Hi, I'm Papa Bear
Strumbook is a one-person project. I design it, build it, and use it myself every time I pick up a guitar. I built Strumbook for any skill level, from bedroom noodling to the stage.
Why I built it
I've been playing guitar since middle school, producing electronic music since college, and DJing since the COVID lockdown gave me way too much free time. I've also been programming since high school, picked up a Computer Science degree, and have worked as a web and application developer since 2015.
Strumbook is what happens when those two halves of my life collide: a musician tired of scattered tabs and printouts, and a developer who'd rather build the tool than keep working around its absence. The last straw was a very real fear: I'd spent 20 years building up a binder of tabs, and one spilled beer was all it would take to lose it. I'm the sole developer behind it, building it in my spare time because it's the tool I actually want to use when I play.
